Asking for help is hard. I’m so glad you are here.

We help people regain their sense of self in pregnancy, parenthood, and Reproductive Grief.

Parenthood and family building are often portrayed as joyful and magical milestones. Social media, television, and even well-meaning family members can contribute to an idealized image of what this time is "supposed" to look like. But for many people, that image doesn’t match reality. Your experience may feel far from joyful. You might feel overwhelmed, anxious, angry, alone, or devastated.

You may find yourself consumed with “what ifs” and guilt. Thoughts like "What if something happens to the baby?" or "What if I’m not cut out for this?" race through your mind. Scary, intrusive thoughts may arise—thoughts that you’re too ashamed or afraid to speak out loud. You feel a deep loss that is difficult to put into words. You’re grieving the experience you hoped for, or the person you used to be.

You wonder: Will I ever feel normal again? And what does normal even look like now?

These questions are common. And they're valid. Whether you’re recovering from a traumatic birth, struggling to bond with your baby, or facing the heartbreak of miscarriage or infertility, your story matters. Your pain matters.

And healing is possible.

Meet Ashley Halverson, (Founder)

LCSW #99739 PMH-C (she/her/hers)

Ashley Halverson, LCSW, PMH-C

I founded Inclusive Reproductive Healing because reproductive stories deserve care.

Too often, these stories are met with silence, dismissal, or judgment. But the truth is, every reproductive journey is unique—and every story is worthy of compassionate, affirming care.

Our reproductive narratives don’t start and stop with pregnancy. They begin in childhood and continue to evolve throughout our lives, influenced by our identities, our bodies, and our life experiences. From early conversations about menstruation or sex, to decisions about fertility, parenting, or ending a pregnancy—these experiences shape who we are.

All reproductive choices and transitions deserve care and support without judgment.

At Inclusive Reproductive Healing, we believe in holding space for all of it: the beauty, the heartbreak, the complexity. Whether you are excited about becoming a parent or unsure of what’s next, we will walk beside you with compassion, respect, and evidence-based support.

We support people through a range of reproductive and perinatal mental health concerns, including:

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression

  • Pregnancy and Postpartum Anxiety

  • Miscarriage and Pregnancy Loss

  • Infertility and Assisted Reproduction

  • Birth Trauma

  • NICU Experiences

  • Reproductive Grief

  • Parenting Stress

Using specialized modalities like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and perinatal-focused psychotherapy, we tailor care to your unique experiences and needs. EMDR is especially helpful in processing trauma, including birth trauma, miscarriage, and reproductive grief.

The word inclusive is important to me Because I want to include ALL reproductive stories and lived experiences.

This includes LGBTQIA+ families, single parents by choice, people using surrogacy or donor conception, people choosing to remain child-free, and people with disabilities navigating reproductive healthcare.

Your story is honored here—no matter your background, identity, or path.

Safety in your identity is my first priority.

Therapy should be a space where you don’t have to explain who you are or justify your experience. It should be a space where you feel seen, heard, and safe. That’s why Inclusive Reproductive Healing centers inclusivity, intersectionality, and trauma-informed care.

You don’t have to go through this alone. Whether you are located in San Diego and prefer in-person therapy, or you're anywhere in California and would like to meet virtually, we are here for you. Our flexible online therapy options make support more accessible, especially during times when leaving the house feels impossible.

All identities and reproductive stories are welcome here.

You deserve a therapist who understands the complexities of reproductive mental health, and who will sit with you in the messy, painful, and confusing parts of your story—without judgment, without rushing you, and without platitudes. Healing takes time. It also takes connection, support, and the right care.

If you are struggling right now, please know that there is help. There is hope. And there is healing. At Inclusive Reproductive Healing, we are here to support you as you find your footing again.
